Asylum Seeker Welcome Centre
The Asylum Seeker Welcome Centre (ASWC) is a community centre that offers a safe and welcoming space for people seeking asylum in Melbourne.
We empower and resource clients to act on their own behalf and maintain a secure and consistent environment, as this forms the basis for providing clients with a sense of safety and belonging.
The ASWC aims to:
- welcome asylum seekers and respect their right to claim protection,
- provide information, referral and linkages to services related to asylum seekers’ situation,
- offer asylum seekers a place where they can make social contacts and engage in social, educational and recreational activities,
- empower and support asylum seekers in acting and advocating on their own behalf,
- raise public awareness of the needs and issues facing asylum seekers.
Salvation Army
We work with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, those suffering from serious mental health issues, people affected by a range of addiction issues and people who are suffering from social poverty.

We exist to protect the vulnerable Victorians in our community – a child suffering from abuse, a homeless young person, a woman escaping domestic violence, an impoverished couple unable to feed their family – people who desperately need help. We protect over 80,000 Victorians all across the state, each and every year.

Job Prospects, a division of SYC, is a leading Job Services Australia (JSA) and Disability Employment Services – Employment Support Service (DES-ESS) provider that works with jobseekers to gain and sustain employment and with employers to recruit and maintain their workforce.
